About HorizonCanvasCo
Hi, I'm Maren
I'm a canvas artist based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. After a decade chasing light as a travel photographer — Portugal's coast, Scotland's highlands, New Mexico's deserts — I traded the carry-on for a studio just outside town.
HorizonCanvasCo is where I translate those years of looking at horizons into canvas art you can live with every day. Every print is handcrafted locally from gallery-quality matte canvas, stretched over solid wood, and finished to museum standards. My studio dog Juno supervises.
What makes a HorizonCanvasCo piece different
- Gallery-quality matte canvas — 350 gsm, never glossy, prints like a painting
- Archival pigment inks — fade-resistant for 100+ years indoors
- Solid wood stretcher bars — kiln-dried pine, no warping
- Hand-inspected — I check every canvas before it ships from Asheville
- Ready to hang — pre-installed hardware, no framing required
The work
I'm drawn to the moments between — dawn fog in Tuscany, the last 20 minutes of golden hour over the Atlantic, a mountain pass where the weather turns. The canvases in this shop are all pieces I've been building in a very slow, deliberate way, one subject at a time.
Every piece ships from Asheville
Free shipping in the US on everything. International shipping to the UK, Canada, Australia, and most of the EU. Each canvas is packed in protective corners and a double-walled box — the same way I'd ship one of my own photos to a gallery.
Questions about sizing, color, or whether a particular piece will work in your space? Send me a message — I respond to everything personally within 24 hours.
